We love Halloween!
Avery made a last-minute change to a Flamenco dancer for school and then settled into her kitty princess outfit for neighborhood trick or treating (pictured with Mindy, the fairy dogmother). Thomas was less than thrilled about the lion costume.

Fall party at preschool
The kids spent all week decorating the classroom with pumpkins, ghosts and autumn leaves for a fun, family event. We enjoyed a bubble dance party, pumpkin bowling and delicious goodies.

Pre-dinner walk to the park
We just couldn't resist walking to the end of the street on this sunny fall evening. Kicking leaves and finding pine cones for Jack was an added bonus to slide and jungle gym time.
Thomas is three-months-old
Time flies when you are having fun ... and on a modified sleep schedule. Thomas is a very happy three-month-old, who smiles when people talk to him, watches his sister in amazement in everything she does and is starting to giggle - especially on the changing table in the morning.
Celebrating Great Grandma Barr's 85th
A fun family get together where we celebrated great grandma Alice's (or as Avery calls her, "big grandma") 85th birthday with High Tea.

Remlinger Farms
It was our second year of going to Remlinger Farms and it was just as fun - maybe even more - than last year. From the train ride around the farm to antique car driving, boats, goats and mini carnival rides. The crowd pleaser was the hay maze and jumping pit, which we hit up twice.

Just missing the cats
A rare sight to have all three in one frame. Calvin was actually racing up and down the stairs, but we couldn't get him in the picture.
Game time
Avery loves this cherry counting game and after she won a couple rounds against Mama and Thomas she decided to start counting in Spanish.

Saving pennies pays off
Avery has been collecting change she finds around the house (including in the couch cushions) for quite some time. At school this week they started math exercises using a pool of 30 bears and then grouping them into fives to learn some simple addition. We did the same thing with quarters, nickels and dimes here at home. We took $11 to the store and found we could buy two Barbie outfits! Math is fun!

Bookworm part II
Finally, a shelf worthy of Avery's most prized possessions. Daddy built it and we all pitched in to help paint.
