Merry Christmas!

Thomas is 5 months old

Thomas is now at daycare in the Starbucks building in a class with five other babies. He adjusted very well and has teachers who just adore his shrieks and laughs. Mama gets to visit him as much as she can during the day, making the transition to a working mom again a little easier.

Visiting Santa

We went back to our old neighborhood and saw Santa at Swanson's Nursery. We got to visit with a couple of Santa's reindeer and Curly the camel. Avery loved chatting with Santa about all things Christmas.

Avery expands her extracurriculars

Avery loves trying new things. She has been taking dance class once a week for the past year and today started karate! I think she was more interested in the uniform than the breathing and stretching, but still lots of fun. 

It's beginning to look a lot...

like Christmas! We were busy today putting up the outside lights (yes, there was a Griswold countdown) and putting up the tree and stockings. More to come soon!

Turkey Day

Poor little guy couldn't share in the delicious turkey dinners (yes, plural!) we enjoyed with family. Avery's appetite was up to the challenge though.

Thomas is four months old

Still a tall boy in the 90th percentile and weighing in at 16 pounds even.

A big day!

Avery got her very own library card. You can see it around her wrist. She is pictured here with her library certificate and the children's librarian, Maggie, at Lake Hills Library. 

Veggie appetizers

Broccoli sticks were a favorite of mama and auntie Hayley's when they were growing up - thanks to Grandpa Greg. Avery loves them just as much, too!

Avery in the preschool newsletter

With a mama as spokesperson and PR professional, it was not surprising the update we saw today. So proud!

Someone has discovered his tongue

He has no idea what it is for though. At dinner tonight Avery said, "Mama, he looks like he wants to lick something." 

Thomas of the jungle

Thomas just started grabbing at toys and actually being able to catch one or two between his little fingers. 

Avery playing soccer

Avery and daddy are doing a six-week "biddy sports" series on Saturday  mornings. First up - soccer!!! She has an excellent kick and will be practicing "squashing the bug" to keep the ball from rolling away.

We love Halloween!

Avery made a last-minute change to a Flamenco dancer for school and then settled into her kitty princess outfit for neighborhood trick or treating (pictured with Mindy, the fairy dogmother). Thomas was less than thrilled about the lion costume.
